While visiting the Staten Island University Hospital North today, I was quite surprised to find this wild turkey walking on the ambulance ramp. Wild? It was livid. It was honking and gobbling and all pissed off 'cos it couldn't find its mates. Apparently a whole flock had landed in the neighborhood. I got as close as I dared, because it was a big bastard and it came up to my waist.

kitty katus! i grew up on SI (dont tell anyone) and experience the turkey birds quite a bit. its funny (and lovely) how everyone respects those birds and leaves them alone but somehow doesn't mind gobbling them up on thanksgiving.

I like how you capture these pictures on the fly. One of these days, I gotta go digital camera, heck I don't even have a regular cell phone. I'm so anti-tech at times.
